2022 EMOTIVE EMPATHY SA FASHION WEEK AW22

For this collection we took inspiration from the emotional side of the lock-down and the effect it has had on people’s emotions. As emotions are generally seen as a more feminine side to a person we incorporated this into the collection with fit & flare silhouettes, gathering details and with the use of color allowing for people to experience a different side to non-binary fashion to our last collection.

By combining the art and fashion design principles (such as proportion, color & silhouette) with what is considered masculine and feminine in those elements we create collections in a contemporary style shown through an Eastern meets African aesthetic.

We’ve kept our fabrics as responsible and thoughtful as possible with natural fibers. The garments don’t follow trend and rather capture the buyer/consumer’s emotion so that it’s a piece that will be worn for years to come and not discarded after 1 season’s use maximizing the wear ability of the garments.

All prints were created in our studio and printed locally in South Africa. All trims and fabrics are sourced locally in South Africa.

We’ve are also introducing more zero waste fabric cutting styles in this collection in a top, trouser & dress. This means that our zero waste patterns have no fabric waste when cut further contributing to the sustainability of the garment.

This collection has been featured in several publications including ClubX magazine for the TFG Foschini group, Sarie Magazine for June/July issue and has been worn by Freshly Ground's vocalist Zolani Mahola
